RIGA PANTOMIME 70 | EXHIBITION | TOUCHING THE SKY. REBIRTH

From October 13 to November 29, the exhibition TOUCHING THE SKY. REBIRTH can be viewed in the Mirror Hall of VEF Culture Palace, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the ensemble “Riga Pantomime.”

The exhibition offers a glimpse into the ensemble's creative legacy through photographs, performance posters, and other visual materials preserved in the collection of the HISTRIONS association. The exhibition title “Rebirth” refers to a 1996 production created after a long break in the ensemble's activity, also reviving earlier works, including “The Maiden of the North.”

A special place in the exhibition is devoted to “The Histrions Mystery,” a production whose stage history lasted forty years. The premiere took place in 1971, marking Robert Ligers's 40th birthday, and the final performance was staged in 2011, the year of his 80th birthday. This period is documented in photographs by Raimonds Daugavietis and Valdis Majevskis.

The exhibition offers a look into the creative path of “Riga Pantomime,” revealing the ensemble's history, its most important productions, and the continuity of its artistic legacy.
