Aija Andrejeva and Kārlis Lācis “INVITATION”

Song cycle with music by Kārlis Lācis and poetry by Māra Zālīte

Sinfonietta Rīga string quartet

Aija Andrejeva and Kārlis Lācis invite you to a special and emotionally rich concert program “INVITATION” - a song cycle in which Kārlis Lācis’s music blends with Māra Zālīte’s poetry and tells the story of a woman’s feelings, love, longing, and different moments of life.

“INVITATION” is a subtle and emotionally rich musical experience. It is a story about fragile, passionate, playful, and sometimes slightly ironic feelings. The songs reveal changing emotional states - from melancholy and love lyricism to lightness, playfulness, and a smile.

In the concert, Aija Andrejeva’s voice will be complemented by Kārlis Lācis’s piano music and the Sinfonietta Rīga string quartet, whose sound will give the songs a special emotional depth.

This is a concert in which music comes very close to the listener, to move them, allow them to experience different emotions, and to pause for a moment in the rush of everyday life and, from time to time, smile. It is a meeting with music that speaks about feelings that change, overlap, and sometimes say more than words.
