Vocal trio with instrumental ensemble accompaniment

Appassionante is an Italian music trio made up of Giorgia Villa (Lazio), Mara Tanchis (Sardinia) and Stefania Francabandiera (Puglia). They are recognized worldwide as the first all-female group working in the operatic pop crossover genre.

The group was founded in Rome in 2006 on the initiative of producer Mauro Borzellino and his record label Overlook Italia. The goal was to create a classical and pop music crossover performed by three Mediterranean women, professional opera singers. This mix of lyrical and light music immediately sparked huge interest: from the very beginning the singers performed at many festivals and events, touring successfully throughout Italy and around the world, enchanting audiences with their uniqueness and originality.

Thanks to Overlook Italia's collaboration with major German media companies, the Appassionante project reached a new level, which led to the release of their first album, "Appassionante," in Europe and beyond. Success was immediate, and the group began performing actively live, including on television shows on leading Italian and international channels. Giving more than 100 concerts a year, the artists traveled the world, performing both at open-air venues and in prestigious theaters.

A special feature of their style, which brought them international fame, is a strong Italian component. Their deep roots in Italian opera culture and their ability to combine tradition with modernity by reinterpreting opera arias, even those originally written for tenor or baritone, allowed them to masterfully and expressively unite two beloved genres: opera and popular music.

Another important feature of the group is the versatility of their repertoire: they sing in many languages and dialects, including Italian, Neapolitan, English, Spanish, German, French, Russian, Chinese, Korean, Hebrew and Latin.
