Concert program "STORIES OF ARGENTINA"
The program "Argentine Stories" is a musical-literary journey through Latin America, full of passion and temperament. The actor of the New Riga Theater Vilis Daudzins brings to life the stories of Jorge Luis Borges - those images, metaphors and philosophical revelations that shed light on the multi-layered nature of human existence. Parallel to these words, the interpretations of saxophonist Aigars Raumans and guitarist Mika Akotas are heard, which also help to open the door to the emotional world feeling of Argentina and Brazil through music. Maximo Diego Pohula's compositions reveal the shades of the different districts of Buenos Aires, Astor Piazzolla's cycle "The History of Tango" takes you along the tango path - from street dance to the concert hall, while Eitor Vilas-Lobus's lyrical Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 gives the program a poetic tone. On this evening, music and literature meet as two points of view on passions, melancholy and longing," say the organizers of the program.
