A quarrel between three friends about art, love, and friendship.

Once upon a time there were three friends, and they lived in harmony for fifteen years, until one of them bought a white painting with white lines for 30,000 euros.

Serge says it is art, Marc says it is crap, while Ivan would prefer not to take part in this argument at all. But it turns out that behind the argument about the white painting lies far more than just different tastes.

The play Art by French playwright Yasmina Reza received the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy of the Year (1998) and the Tony Award for Best Play of the Year (1998).
