What happens when a 60-year-old man suddenly goes on parental leave and his ordinary life is about to be turned upside down? Can a man cope with the huge load of responsibilities and raise a child? Is a “real man” automatically a good father too?

With the arrival of the expected baby at home, a whole series of questions arise, for which there are no ready-made answers. Unpredictable situations are helped along by relatives and neighbors. They not only offer thoughtful advice on how to raise the newest member of the family, but also plant worries about the coming event and stir up anxiety in the new father. And, of course, everyone around always knows “how it usually is” and “what is better”...

“Man on Maternity Leave” - a musical comedy starring Ģirts Ķesteris in the lead role is a heartfelt and witty story about masculinity and relationships. It is a story about life, where nothing goes according to plan, and about how the most important answers have to be found by oneself.
