Ballet "Casanova"

The ballet, which offers a chance to experience the splendid, breathtaking world of the 18th century, was created by choreographer Kenneth Tindall, composer Kerry Mays, set and costume designer Christopher Oram, and dramaturg Ian Kelly.

Giacomo Casanova's life was lived in all its beauty and possibilities. Thanks to his candid memoirs, we also know this famous 18th-century writer as a priest, musician, actor, lawyer, diplomat, spy, philosopher, and lover of fine food. And, of course, a passionate lover.

"Casanova was a man of the moment with an incredible ability to be happy, and it was precisely this quality that captivated people most," says Ian Kelly, Casanova's biographer and the author of this ballet's libretto, describing Casanova. Casanova seeks to look into the mind and heart of the legendary lover, while also opening a view onto a fascinating era.
