Season 2026 "Secrets of the Author"

‌

The meeting takes place in the format of a lecture with a discussion: you will leave with an understanding of the work in the context of the author's work, as well as its historical and cultural significance.

‌

‌The fourth part of the slow reading season will be dedicated to reading the wittiest novels of the British writer Jane Austen.

‌

Jane Austen's Mysteries

‌

What do young ladies read? Can you marry for love? What are the qualities of a true gentleman? What secrets are hidden behind the scenes of British ladies?

‌

We answer these questions in the new literary season!

‌

‌14.11 «Netherfield Abbey» Jane Austen's novel-parody, in which Austen plays with the traditions of Gothic literature and the reader's expectations.

28.11 «Emma» Jane Austen's novel - one of the writer's most ironic novels and an experiment with a point of view that makes the reader make mistakes along with the hero.

• 5.12 The Longbourns by Jo Baker - A modern reassessment of the world from the point of view of Pride and Prejudice, told by those who normally stay outside the classic novel.

‌

There are 25 places at the meeting

‌After completing the registration, you can no longer apply for an appointment.
