Civil Defense Training
Do we know how to act in a crisis situation? Is our family and community ready for it? Today, safety is no longer only the responsibility of the state or public services. In a crisis situation, the preparedness, knowledge, and ability to cooperate of each person, family, and local community are also very important.
We invite you to take part in the civil defense training of the project “Community Resilience,” which will take place on October 19 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Pļaviņas Cultural Center, 49 Daugavas Street.
The goal of the project “Community Resilience” is to strengthen the safety capacity and preparedness of rural communities for various crises, while also promoting mutual assistance and social cohesion. During the training, we will talk about how to prepare for crisis situations, what needs to be known and obtained in advance, how to protect yourself and your family in the event of a crisis, and how to act if usual infrastructure or services are temporarily unavailable. The lectures will also cover mental health recovery, psychological resilience, maintaining inner stability, caring for your own and others’ psychological well-being, and regaining strength after emotionally difficult situations. The project will also include practical training in first aid, cybersecurity, survival, and other topics.
