Concert dedicated to the 108th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia 'We are here'

The concert program "We are here" will be played on the national holiday in Bauska

on November 18 at 19.00 in the Bauska Culture Center, celebrating the anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia, the concert program "We are here" by the composer Jānis Lūsēns will be performed. Singer Paula Saija and actor and singer Raimonds Celms will meet the composer on stage during the festive evening.

Latvia's birthday is a moment when we gratefully look back on the creation of our country, honor its freedom and realize our belonging to the land we call home. The name of the concert program "We are here" will be heard this evening as a confirmation of our presence and love for Latvia - its language, nature, people and culture.

Vocal chamber music occupies a special place in the works of Jānis Lūsēns. In the voices of Paula Saija and Raimonds Celmas, accompanied by the composer's piano, the audience will be able to enjoy both solo songs and duets, as well as fragments from the stage works "Sphinx", "Early rust" and others. The composer himself will play the piano, while the sound of the concert will be enriched by Jānis Lūsēns jun. (bass) and Evija Mundeciem (flute).

In the songs of the program, the words of the classics of Latvian poetry will intertwine with the melodies of Jānis Lūsēns, revealing love for Latvia, its landscapes and people. Along with patriotic and lyrical moods, the concert will also include pranks and coquetry - songs about the twists and turns of the relationship between a man and a woman. The musical message will be complemented by poetry read by Raimonds Celma.

On the evening of the national holiday, we invite you to be together and indulge in the power of music and words, which remind you: Latvia lives in our thoughts, deeds and ability to hear each other. We are here - in our country.
