Concert “Many Happy Returns on Your Birthday!”

20th anniversary concert for the women’s vocal ensemble “Jūti” of Ķekava Cultural House!

On Saturday, October 17, at 6:00 PM, with the concert “Many Happy Returns on Your Birthday!”, the women’s ensemble “Jūti” of Ķekava Cultural House will celebrate its 20th birthday. The concert will be hosted by Jānis Strazdiņš, one of the ensemble’s former leaders and a singer with The Real Group and Latvian Voices.

On this anniversary occasion, songs that have an important place in “Jūti”’s life and have firmly settled into the ensemble’s “golden” repertoire will be performed. A cappella compositions, folk song arrangements, sacred music and playful pop music, as well as several completely new songs. “Many happy returns on your birthday!” we will wish the ensemble from near and far, both in person and remotely. In the first part of the concert, we will relive a carousel of memories, listening to the ensemble members’ stories and songs. The second part of the concert, enlivened by the instrumental quartet led by Didzis Soste and the dance group “Versija” (led by Ivetta Tamane), will show the ensemble in a slightly different role.

“Jūti” is the women’s vocal ensemble of Ķekava Cultural House, where 7 creative girls have been singing together since childhood - colorful, different, each with her own musical soul, experience and special spark. That is exactly what binds them together, and that is why they have stayed together for so long - performing, singing, laughing, and going to rehearsals after a long day of study and work. Singing is both a hobby and a way of life for the members of “Jūti” at the same time. The ensemble currently includes seven members from Ķekava - Gita Drevinska, Ilze Millere, Krista Raiska, Elīna Ērgle, Lana Bērziņa, Ilona Vaitava, and Madara Vizule from Ventspils.

The concert director is Maija Bērtiņa, the head of the bright and original event agency “Attach” and a longtime singer with the ensemble “Jūti”.
