on October 12 at 18.00 Daugavpils 2026 open volleyball championship will start in the big hall of Daugavpils Sports School (17A Kandavas street). Six men's teams will compete for the championship title. The competition will take place in two stages and will end on December 14.

"National Border Guard", "Impulsus", "Physical Strength" and three Daugavpils Sports School teams will participate in the tournament: "Daugavpils SS-2008", "Daugavpils SS-2009" and "Daugavpils SS-2010/2011". Players born in 2011 and older will participate in the championship.

On the first day of the games at "Daugavpils SS-2008" and "National Border Guard" will meet at 18.00, but at At 7:30 p.m., "Physical Strength" and "Daugavpils SS-2009" will play. On the other hand, on October 19 at At 18.00, the "State Border Guard" and "Daugavpils SS-2010/2011" will go to the square, but at "Daugavpils SS-2009" and "Impulss" will play a mutual game at 7:30 p.m.

The games of the first stage will continue on October 26, as well as on November 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30. All championship games are scheduled on Mondays at 18.00 and 19.30, but only one game is scheduled on November 30, which at "National Border Guard" and "Physical Strength" will meet at 18.00.

In the first stage, the teams will play a one-round tournament, with each team facing each opponent once. The four best teams will qualify for the semi-finals, while the fifth and sixth place winners will complete their participation in the championship. The semi-finals will take place on December 7: at First and fourth place winners will meet at 18.00, but at The second and third place winners will play at 19.30.

Places in the first round will be determined by the points obtained. For a victory with a score of 3:0 or 3:1, the team will receive three points, and the losing team will remain without points. If the match ends with a score of 3:2, two points will be awarded to the winner and one point to the loser. In the event of an equal number of points, the order of places between the two teams will be determined by the result of the head-to-head match. If three or more teams have the same number of points, the ratio of won and lost sets will be evaluated first, then the ratio of points won and lost in mutual games. If these indicators are not enough for the allocation of places, they will be evaluated in the same order in all the games of the first stage.

On the final day of the games, December 14, at At 18.00 the game for the third place will take place, but at At 19.30 the battle for the championship title will begin. There will be an award ceremony after the games. The three best teams will be awarded with cups, and their players will be presented with medals.

The championship is organized by the Daugavpils Education, Youth and Sports Department in cooperation with the Daugavpils Olympic Center. The purpose of the competition is to identify the best teams, to promote the development of volleyball in Daugavpils and to provide young players with the opportunity to prepare for Latvian-wide competitions.
