Dmyryan Kudryavtsev in Riga: Presentation of a Poetry Collection

On September 29, Vilki Books will host a presentation of Dmyryan Kudryavtsev's new poetry collection, "All This Is You Now."

What happens to a person who has been successively stripped of everything that, by definition, seemed inseparable: homeland, their generation, belonging to a culture and language, and even the ability to be right? What action retains meaning after an endless chain of subtractions? And can the work of the author and the labor of the reader create something new in place of what was lost?

"All This Is You Now" is the ninth poetry book by Dmyryan Kudryavtsev. It is a book about what remains when it seems there is nothing left.

Dmyryan Kudryavtsev is a poet, prose writer, translator, and entrepreneur. He is the author of several poetry collections, the novel "Twins," and the libretto for the opera "The Nutcracker." He has translated poems by Vladimir Nabokov, Robert Frost, and W. H. Auden. He will one day finish a new translation of "The Song of My Cid." Together with Anton Nosik, he edited EYE, the first Russian literary online magazine, and with Artemy Lebedev he founded a design studio. He was CEO of the publishing house Kommersant and owner of the newspaper Vedomosti.
