Two Dozen Pink Roses

"He who digs a pit for another falls into it himself" This proverb fully applies to the main character of the play "Two Dozen Pink Roses," a classic of the Italian entertainment genre by Aldo De Benedetti, engineer Verani. Pretending to be an expert on the fair sex, he falls victim to his own theory about the existence of ideal love in a woman's heart. Does such love really exist? How should it be fought? Is it even possible? And should it be done at all? These are the questions sought by the main character's wife, Marina, and his business partner, lawyer Savelli. As well as the housemaid Rosina.

Aldo De Benedetti's comedies are filled with humor, with a sly satirical eye peeking over its shoulder. Laconic and witty dialogue. The characters always end up in funny, yet psychologically justified situations.
