Live Book Club for Children “Milk Tooth” / “We and the Departed”

K.K. fon Strick Villa and children’s book publisher “Liels un mazs” invite you to take part in the children’s book club “Milk Tooth”, aimed at readers and those who are still only wanting to read, aged 5 to 9.

Each meeting will be like a living book, created through the interaction of authors and readers. The ability to read and a friendship with books should be nurtured in childhood just like milk teeth - then, as we grow up, they will be replaced by strong permanent teeth, and the reading child will become a reading adult.

On November 8, we invite you to meet writers Luīze Pastore and Inese Zandere, and artists Svens Neiland and Anete Bajāre-Babčuka, the creators of the books “Here You Are!” and “Two Almas”. We will talk about grief, remembrance, and memories in life and in books.

To prepare, we recommend reading one of these books, but it will certainly also be interesting for participants who are not yet familiar with them: Luīze Pastore’s “Here You Are!” and Inese Zandere’s “Two Almas”.

The number of places is limited; participation is with a previously purchased “Milk Tooth” admission card (the card is needed only for the child).

Holders of the “Honored Family” certificate (“3+ Family Card”) can buy it at a discount.

Visual design for the “Milk Tooth” live book club by Rūta Briede and Artis Briedis.

The event may be photographed and filmed.

The event is co-financed by the European Union program “Creative Europe”, the Riga City Council, and the State Culture Capital Foundation.
