EDGARS BĀLIŅŠ stand-up show THE AVERAGE LATVIAN

Comedian Edgars Bāliņš is announcing a tour of his stand-up show “The Average Latvian” across several Latvian cities, choosing the nationally significant date of October 3 for the premiere. The opening performance will take place in Riga, at the VEF Culture Palace.

“I’ve taken a respectable eight-year break to return to the stand-up comedy scene at just the right time. A diplomatic explanation for this move would be: I’m coming back to improve the country’s comedy situation and help the people. In truth, just like a politician, I’m of course doing this only to get huge money, insane fame, and unimaginable power in my hands,” Bāliņš says about his upcoming return.

This is Edgars Bāliņš’s third solo show. Previously, the comedian delighted fans of humor with the shows “Almost Not” and “In That Sense, Everything’s Chill,” and with the second show he also treated audiences internationally, performing in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

Edgars Bāliņš is also known as a member of the rap supergroup “Singapūras Satīns,” a participant in the podcast “Bize vaļā,” the founder of the comedians’ collective “Comedy Latvia,” a host, and one of the country’s best-known Eurovision commentators. In recent years, Bāliņš has also tried acting, taking part in more than 50 sold-out performances of “Glābjas kas var” across Latvia.
