Tour of the Latvian Puppet Theatre

A tour of the Latvian Puppet Theatre promises an educational adventure both in the theatre area behind the door marked “No Entry for Unauthorized Persons!” and in the work of a puppet theatre actor.

During the tour, participants will have the chance to peek into places that are usually not accessible to audiences. They will walk through the workshops where puppets and sets are made, as well as the storage rooms where these works of art are kept. Along the way, there will also be a chance to discover the “other side” of the Great Hall, what it looks like and what happens backstage. At the end, visitors will go to the Small Hall, where they will be introduced to different puppet theatre techniques, and will also get the chance to step into the role of an actor themselves and feel what skills are needed to operate puppets. It will be a wonderful opportunity to experience the magic of theatre from a different point of view!

The tour is led by actresses Dace Vītola or Lienīte Podskočija
