Elza's Day Concert “Poetry Sounds. Threads.”

When everything that seemed to matter - happiness, fear, the ebb and flow - has passed, only threads remain. They connect what has been experienced in the present and allow us to hear again. Poetry, like jazz, has always been able to create a space for inner reflection. “Poetry Sounds. Threads.” is singer Santa Šillere’s original music program, where Latvian poetry meets a contemporary jazz language. The concert will feature texts by Latvian poets Krista Anna Belševica, Aleksandra Lines, Zane Zusta, Aspazija, Aija Āboltiņa, and Emīls Buiķis. From a portrait of the millennial generation and self-irony to a genuine search for light, the musical stories trace the many-layered threads of a person’s inner world. In this program, jazz becomes a living space for conversation, where words meet improvisation.
