Emil's Mischief

Astrid Lindgren's Emil of Lönneberga is known in Sweden to many generations of readers and viewers, who for more than 60 years have been able to enjoy the author's wonderful books, as well as the exciting and adventure-filled musical stage production "Emil of Lönneberga" created by Kålle Gunnarsson, with songs composed by Georg Riedel and lyrics written by Astrid Lindgren herself. Latvian readers and viewers also know Emil's incredibly exciting mischief well, thanks to the many books published in Latvian and, of course, the legendary film by director Variis Brasla.

The Latvian Youth Theatre is offering Latvian audiences the chance, for the first time, to see the legendary Swedish musical for the whole family, "Emil's Mischief", in Latvian! Directed by Laila Kirmuška, choreographed by Sanita Misika, costume designer Evija Dāboliņa, libretto by Kalle Gunnarsson, music by Georg Riedel, lyrics by Astrid Lindgren, produced by Juris Millers.

Cast: Jānis Skanis, Edgars Lipors, Arnita Jaunzeme or Laima Miltiņa-Rode, Jānis Kirmuška, Dace Makovska, Zane Vaļicka, Sandija Misika, Māris Skrodis, etc. Emil is played by Dāvis Buņķis, Olivers Rubīns, Gustavs Švēdenbergs or Jurģis Pudulis, Ida is played by Anna Morusa, Marika Čakša, Marta Kramēna or Melisa Vanaga.

The performance is in two acts, with an approximate running time of 1 hour and 50 minutes including one intermission. Tickets must be purchased for every attendee, regardless of age. The performance is intended for audiences aged 5 and up.

The production is being created based on a license issued by Nordiska ApS (Copenhagen).
