Exhibition of Works by Students of the Children's Art School of "Saules Skola" - "Notes from Plein Air"
On Wednesday, October 7, at 4:00 PM, the exhibition of plein-air works by students of the Children's Art School of Daugavpils Art Secondary School "Saules Skola" will open at the USA Information Center of the Latgale Central Library (22A Rīgas Street, Daugavpils). At the opening event, visitors will have the opportunity to meet the authors of the works and discover the young artists' view of the city and its moods.
The works gathered in the exhibition create an emotional dialogue with Daugavpils. They are not only depictions of the surrounding environment, but also personal and spontaneous "notes" - impressions, feelings, and observations experienced in plein air and recorded at a specific time and place. The works of the young artists speak through color combinations, the variety of lines and strokes, dynamism, and different moods.
In the works of the Daugavpils exhibition, the city is revealed at different times of day. Here we encounter light and bright morning impressions, midday that awakens the imagination and allows us to look at the familiar differently, a calm and subdued afternoon, as well as the nighttime city, where the lights become dazzling and the darkness dramatic.
"Notes from Plein Air" invites the viewer to look at Daugavpils with fresh eyes - to notice the familiar from a different angle and to feel the city through the experience of young artists. It is an opportunity to see the place where we live, study, and work, and to realize how differently it can be perceived and depicted.
The exhibition "Notes from Plein Air" at the USA Information Center of the Latgale Central Library will be on view until November 27.
