For centuries, birds have inspired composers. Their voices have turned into melodies, the beat of their wings into rhythm, and flight has become a symbol of freedom, dream, and the urge to rise.

Every bird has its own voice. And every era has its own music.

FLY WITH ME is a musical journey through the ages, following birds.

On this journey, you will encounter different musical worlds: the French Baroque of Rameau and Dacquin, the romantic images of Saint-Saëns, Glinka, and Rimsky-Korsakov, the gypsy temperament of Dinicu, and the special mood of the music of Ezio Bosso and Ludovico Einaudi.

Centuries, styles, and musical languages change, yet people still listen to birdsong, admire its beauty, and dream of what once seemed impossible, rising above the earth.

This evening, the violin and piano will become the voices of this wondrous world, singing, calling to one another, fluttering, and soaring upward.

All that remains is to look up at the sky and follow them.

Performers:

Aleksejs Bahirs - violin

Laureate of national and international competitions. Concertmaster of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra. He has performed in many European countries, as well as in Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. He is actively involved in chamber music and contemporary music projects.

Tatjana Čigorskaja - piano

Pianist, accompanist, teacher, and arranger, laureate of international competitions. She graduated with distinction from the Belarusian State Academy of Music. She won first prizes at international competitions in Finland, Sweden, and Italy. Since 2011, she has lived and worked in Riga.

Gypsy fire, dazzling virtuosity, and the lightness of a bird in flight, all of this comes together in Grigoraș Dinicu's famous "Lark". Listen as the violin soars into the sky like a lark circling freely high in the air!
