Glenn Miller Orchestra directed by Uli Plettendorff

Jazz group "The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra" conducted by Uli Plettendorff, with a new program!

After more than 40 years and more than 5,200 concerts across Europe, Will Salden has retired. Uli Pletendorff, who has been a trombonist in the Glenn Miller Orchestra since its beginnings, now continues the tradition as the new conductor of the orchestra.

In the 2026/2027 season, the Glenn Miller Orchestra will once again go on a grand European tour, inspiring audiences of all ages around the world.

Every two years, this legendary group comes to the Baltics.

The orchestra is one of only three orchestras in the world that are entitled to bear this name, and the only one that is allowed to perform in the Baltic states!

The Glenn Miller Orchestra’s repertoire includes works by outstanding composers of the big band era, the legendary jazz era of the 1930s to 1950s.

Will Salden, a renowned musician and performer from the Netherlands, fell in love with jazz long ago and forever, and was able to bring together outstanding musicians from different countries who are just as in love with and passionate about jazz as he is.

Will and his musicians strive to realize Miller’s magic formula: "Each soloist and music arranger should strive to create a completely new and flawless sound style, recognizable from the very first notes."

By the way, according to legend, the most unique and certainly most recognizable sound of the Glenn Miller Orchestra came about completely by accident. During a concert, the trumpeter injured his lip, and the clarinetist had to take over his part.

That is how Glenn Miller’s style was born, a style that gives listeners an unforgettable sense of celebration and contact with the miracle of music!! Of course, the highlight of the concert will be the performance of the most famous work, "Moonlight Serenade" from the film "Sun Valley Serenade," which will immerse the audience in the incredible atmosphere of the Glenn Miller era.
