Hike and First-Hand Story Event “With Steps and Stories Toward Europe”

During the autumn school break, we invite young people from Mārupe and Olaine municipalities on 21 October to the Eurodesk campaign “Time to Move” event “With Steps and Stories Toward Europe” at the youth center “Hēlijs”, where we will go on a hike together and, in an informal atmosphere, learn more about opportunities for young people in Europe.

During the event, young people will go on an approximately 5 to 7 km hike to get to know the surroundings of Mārupe and the Bieriņi bog area. The hike will be an opportunity to spend time actively, enjoy autumn, and meet other young people.

After the hike, at the youth center “Hēlijs” over tea and snacks, participants will have the opportunity to hear a first-hand story about volunteer work in another country, as well as learn more about European Union youth programs and opportunities available to young people in Europe.

The aim of the event is to promote young people’s interest in European mobility opportunities, volunteering abroad, and European Union youth programs, as well as to encourage cooperation and participation among young people.

Target audience: Young people aged 13 to 30 from Olaine municipality and Mārupe municipality.

Transportation will be provided for young people from Olaine municipality.

Participation in the event is free of charge. Advance registration is required by filling out the application form by 19 October: forms.gle/bdxHFuKw3BD8pE6a6 (places are limited).
