The international theater and studio-workshop "Synthese" is a politically independent cultural platform that unites people of different nationalities from Switzerland, Germany, Latvia, Russia, Ukraine and other countries.

Since 2003, the "Synthese" theater has created 64 performances for adults and children in German and Russian. Over the years, the theater has become a space for creative dialogue, cultural exchange and artistic growth, bringing together professional stage artists and theater art enthusiasts.

Currently, the main direction of the theater's activity is working with the Russian-speaking troupe, creating new productions, developing acting skills and preserving cultural traditions, using the means of expression of modern theater art.

What really goes on behind the closed doors of the rehearsal hall? How is a show made, and why does the creative process often turn into a whirlwind of emotions, ambitions and comical situations?

"Grettina, page 89 and beyond" is a witty comedy about theater and the people who create it. In the center of the performance are attempts to stage one of the most famous scenes in world drama - the casket scene from "Faust" by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The same scene takes on completely different interpretations over and over again – classic and avant-garde, psychological and absurd in spirit, ingenious and sometimes deliberately clumsy.

A whole gallery of bright theater characters comes to life before the eyes of the audience: capricious divas, inexperienced debutantes, eccentric directors, ardent Freudians, incorrigible idealists and self-confident dilettantes. Their clashes, disputes and creative quests create a colorful, witty and very recognizable story about the world of theater.

It is a show not only about the backstage of the theater, but also about people's characters, creative ambitions and the eternal search for inspiration.
