Exhibition "Unravelers. A Textile Manifesto"

The exhibition reveals textiles as a diverse and contemporary art medium, becoming a means through which artists speak about personal experience, socially relevant issues, and what is happening in the world, while also exploring the interconnection between material, technique, and idea.

The exhibition also offers insight into the Textile specialty at the Art Academy of Latvia today, revealing its dynamism and development. Marking 65 years since the beginnings of textile education at the Academy and the centenary of its founder Rudolf Heimrāts, the exhibition affirms the continuity of the tradition of the Latvian textile art school and its ability to evolve.
