In November, Valmiera Municipality is hosting a cycle of sporting activities for the national holiday month, inviting residents to mark the 108th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia actively - by moving, doing sports, and being together. Throughout the month, various events will be held for different age groups and fitness levels.

On November 7, the traditional Jānis Daliņš Memorial Run and Walk will take place for the twelfth time.

At 11: 00, participants will gather by the Jānis Daliņš monument in the grounds of Jānis Daliņš Stadium. The event will begin with lighting candles and laying flowers in honor of the outstanding Latvian race walker.

After that, participants will set off together on the run and walk to Jānis Daliņš’s ancestral home in Brenguļi. At the finish, every participant will receive a commemorative medal and warm tea.
