Joachim Meyerhoff is not only one of the best actors in contemporary German theatre, but in recent years he has also earned a reputation as a highly successful writer. His books have long been on the bestseller shelves in bookstores. They surprise with wise, heartfelt and cleverly witty observations about life that let you see the world from a completely new perspective.

In his latest book, he describes his journey to his mother. Both literally and figuratively. The other main theme of the book, and therefore of the performance as well, is the invisible side of the acting profession. Both tragic and comic. It is hard, if not almost impossible, to experience surprise in modern art. Joachim Meyerhoff has managed to create it.
