JAZZ FOR KIDS | Miķelis Dzenuška

On the October Saturdays, October 17 and 24, we invite children, young people, and adults to “JAZZ FOR KIDS” at M/House of Jazz - concerts where jazz can be experienced in a live, cozy, and child-friendly setting.

During the concerts, children will be able to listen to live music, get to know different instruments, and explore the world of jazz in an understandable and engaging way.

Tickets:

30 € – child (up to 12 years old) + one accompanying person

20 € – separate child or adult ticket

Families with three or more children can get a special 15% discount by using the code GODAGIMENE and presenting a valid 3+ Family Card at the venue.

The musical program for both October concerts is created by vibraphonist, composer, and producer Miķelis Dzenuška.

The program will feature original compositions by Latvian jazz and improvisation musicians, as well as pieces familiar to children in new interpretations. There will be stories about music and instruments, rhythms, improvisation, and a chance to take part yourself.

Musicians:

Harijs Ločmelis (trumpet)

Miķelis Dzenuška (vibraphone)

Daniēls Pelcis (bass)

Jēkabs Zemzaris (drums)

musical surprise guests

“Children do not usually come into contact with jazz in everyday life, but they themselves improvise a lot in games and creative projects, so they can experience this music very naturally. Children need jazz so they can understand that music can also be free and spontaneous.”

— Miķelis Dzenuška

You are welcome to bring your child’s favorite instrument or any rhythm instrument to the event.

Each concert and lineup will be slightly different, so visitors are invited to attend both concerts.
