HOW THE SUN CAME TO BE

A performance for children aged 3 to 6, with storytelling of Latvian folk tales and baking cookies

Do you know how the Sun was born? How the stars fell into the night sheet, and why the Moon shines? In the performance “How the Sun Came to Be,” using Latvian folk legends, kitchen utensils, and food products, the actors, with the participation of children, will reveal wonders about the origins of the Earth, the Sun, the Moon, the stars, water, and humankind.

From the cookie dough made together, children will have the chance to recreate and taste the impressions gained during the performance.

The director on the performance: “The idea for the performance came while working in the kitchen with my son. Everyday things can turn into inspiring play, while at the same time offering the chance to learn new skills and gain knowledge in a creative and relaxed way. To delight children, there is no need for expensive toys.”
