Actor Nikita Osipov had been thinking about his kvartirnik for a couple of years already, when the pandemic interfered with his plans. However, the forced pause made it possible not only to decide on the theme, but also to refine the idea - the choice fell on the poems of Robert Rozhdestvensky, and the wonderful variety pianist Anatoly Livcha was invited to create magic at the piano.
Robert Rozhdestvensky (1932–1994), a man with a festive surname and a not-so-festive fate, is one of the brightest representatives of the Sixties era, a poet, translator, and author of many famous song lyrics, including for feature films and television films. His collaborators included Mark Fradkin, David Tukhmanov, Mikael Tariverdiev, Alexandra Pakhmutova, Yan Frenkel, Maksim Dunaevsky, Vladimir Shainsky, Raimonds Pauls, Boris Mokrousov, Yevgeny Doga, Tikhon Khrennikov, Yevgeny Krylatov, Aleksandr Zhurbin, and other composers (many of these artists' songs are included in the kvatirnik program).
Rozhdestvensky's poems stand out for their unexpected, fresh, and unforgettable rhymes, their special sonority, and their fervent sincerity. His hero has always been a thinking and feeling person - a deeply caring person. This genuine interest in the world, creative courage, and faith in the best still burn brightly and clearly in his poetry.
An important part of Robert Rozhdestvensky's literary legacy is love lyrics, and for this poet, love is an eternal movement of the soul, a search for the meaning of life and happiness, a path to oneself. Nikita Osipov's kvatirnik is a musical and poetic journey through different sides and manifestations of love: from springtime infatuation to an eternal, all-encompassing feeling, from unrequited love to inspiring love, from love left in the past to love preserved through time. We invite you to take this path together with the lyrical hero - step by step, from youth to maturity, from song to song..
