Autumn Concert by the Kokle Group "Vasara" in Ogre: "You Really Mean a Lot to Me..."

On October 24 this year at 4: 00 PM, the autumn concert by the kokle group "Vasara" will take place at Ogresgrīva Manor House (14a Rīgas Street, Ogre), titled "You Really Mean a Lot to Me...". The event will give every listener a chance to discover the enchanting sound of the kokle and enjoy a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

In the first part of the event, the kokle group "Vasara" will perform. For several years now, its members have met every Tuesday to learn kokle playing under the guidance of Lauma Matule and create ever new programs to delight themselves and their listeners. The concert will also feature the group’s friend, vocal teacher and singer Kristians Krievāns. The repertoire will include popular Latvian estrāde songs and melodies arranged for the kokle.

In the second part of the event, there will be a folk song sing-along, where listeners are invited to bring their own musical instruments if they wish to join in not only by singing but also by playing. To make it easy for everyone to take part, the lyrics and chords for the folk songs will be provided.

The "Vasara" group is made up of kokle enthusiasts who meet to find joy through playing the kokle and to share that joy with listeners. This concert is a great opportunity to experience in a relaxed atmosphere how diverse and contemporary the traditional Latvian instrument, the kokle, can sound.
