Folk Dance Concert “When Miķelis Went Visiting Mārtiņš…”

In the course of the year, the time between Miķelis and Mārtiņš marks the transition from the fruitful autumn to the beginning of winter.

This is the time when the autumn work is done and bountiful harvest festivals are celebrated, when the evenings wrapped in mist remind us that the season of the dead has begun. But this time is by no means quiet and peaceful, because Mārtiņi will be here any moment now, opening the gates to winter, the time for masking will begin, and the dark season will intertwine in songs, dances, jokes, and the joy of meeting.

And that is exactly why the middle-generation dance group ZĪLE will open the doors of its home wide on October 31 to welcome its dance friends - VPDK ARTAVA (Riga), VPDK AIZKRAUKLIS (Aizkraukle), VPDK DAIĻRADES ZELTS (Riga), VPDK DELVE (Jēkabpils), VPDK GODI (Ikšķile), VPDK JEDRITVAI (Malnava), VPDK MŪSU LIELUPE (Jelgava), VPDK ZALKTIS (Riga).

Come and watch!
