Concert Program “Thank You for the Music”

Thank you for the music

What happens when voices meet jazz instruments?

The concert program “Thank You for the Music” invites audiences to experience a meeting between the Junior Big Band under the direction of Raitis Ašmanis, soloists Aija Vītoliņa and Ieva Kerevica, and the mixed choir “Zemgale” under the direction of Guntis Pavilons.

On November 5 at 7: 00 PM, the concert will be performed at the Ulbroka Cultural Center “Ulbrokas Pērle,” where Aija Vītoliņa will appear as the soloist, while on November 13 at 7:00 PM, the concert will take place at the Jelgava Cultural House, and Ieva Kerevica will be on stage together with the Junior Big Band and the choir.

The concert will feature jazz standards, beloved melodies, and well-known pieces. The energy of the big band instruments, the soloist’s voice, and the choir’s polyphony will give the program a special sound. In the concert, the “Zemgale” choir will be an independent musical element whose sound will intertwine with the big band and the soloist.

In the second part of the concert, we will also hear such familiar melodies as “Circle of Life,” “Sway,” “Lai taure skan,” “Thank You for the Music,” and “Ob-La-Di.”

The hosting of the concert and the atmosphere of the evening will be taken care of by Jasmīna Treija and Renārs Beķeris.

“Thank You for the Music” - a concert about the meeting of voices and jazz instruments, familiar melodies, and music’s ability to create a shared feeling.
