From Beethoven's warmth and joy of life to Korngold's lavish sound world and Mendelssohn's restless, passionate expression, the concert reveals the joy of making music together and marks the beginning of the three young musicians' shared creative journey.
Three young and brilliant musicians offer their own view of masterpieces of classical chamber music, including Beethoven and Mendelssohn, as well as the lesser-known Korngold suite for violin and piano, “Viel Lärmen um nichts,” Op. 11.
The evening will open with Beethoven's Third Sonata for Cello and Piano in A major. This will be followed by Korngold's suite, also revealing the colorful interplay of violin and piano, while the concert will conclude with Mendelssohn's widely known but rarely performed Second Piano Trio in C minor, Op. 66, which will bring all three artists together for the first time. As the instrumentation changes, the program will allow the audience to experience the different musical relationships between the musicians, until at the end of the concert all three meet for the first time in a shared sound, forming a new chamber music ensemble.
The concert will feature Ankits Tripathi, Viktorija Savostina, and Reinis Rudzītis.
They are united by their studies at the Jāzeps Mediņš Riga 1st Music School, but each is now forging their own musical path. Ankits continues his studies at the Royal College of Music in London, Viktorija studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, while Reinis continues his studies at the Jāzeps Mediņš Riga 1st Music School.
Although the trio is only just beginning its professional journey as an ensemble, each of the musicians already has significant individual experience - successes in international competitions, scholarships, participation in masterclasses in various countries, and chamber music experience.
