Concert "Come Together, Sing Along with Dziesmuvara!"

At the concert, the mixed choir of the University of Latvia, “Dziesmuvara,” together with the groups “Flashback” and “Dziesmuvasara,” will perform their favorite arrangements of songs by Raimonds Pauls. For decades, Raimonds Pauls’s music has shaped the members of Dziesmuvara as musicians and as people - songs with lyrics by Jānis Peters, Inese Zandere, Leons Briedis, and other Latvian poets have entertained and inspired them through kindergarten days, youthful storms, and the maturity of life.

The concert is divided into two parts. In the first part, the choir will perform together with the group “Flashback,” presenting R. Pauls songs chosen by the choir from the composer’s less frequently heard repertoire. In the second part of the concert, classics will be heard - the well-known stage songs of R. Pauls performed by the choir singers and the group “Dziesmuvasara.” In the second part of the concert, the singers and the audience will be invited to sing and dance along together!

At the end of the Raimonds Pauls anniversary year, the choir “Dziesmuvara” warmly invites everyone to discover R. Pauls’s music through their own interpretation, including arrangements of R. Pauls’s songs created by the choir members themselves.
