Conference “Together for Children’s Safety” on Preventing Child Sexual Abuse

On October 29, the Mārupe Music and Art School (Mazcenu aleja 39, Jaunmārupe) will host the conference “Together for Children’s Safety,” dedicated to Mārupe Municipality’s prevention plan for preventing child sexual abuse.

The aim of the conference is to raise awareness of the risks of child sexual abuse, prevention opportunities, and the importance of cooperation among the different parties involved in strengthening children’s safety. The event will focus on both preventive measures and practical solutions, as well as joint action to create a safer environment for children.

Conference participants will have the opportunity to hear from field specialists, take part in discussions, and talk about Mārupe Municipality’s prevention plan, as well as each participant’s role in its implementation.

Conference program:

• 9.30-10.00 Registration and morning coffee.
• 10.00-10.30 Opening of the conference.
• 10.30-12.00 “Why talk about child sexual abuse? Risks and prevention opportunities.” Agnese Sladzevska, “Centrs Dardedze”.
• 12.00-12.30 Coffee break.
• 12.30-13.30 “What can each of us do?” Discussion on Mārupe Municipality’s prevention plan.
• 13.30-15.00 “What needs to happen for us to cooperate?” Ilze Čiščakova, “Spring Valley”.

The conference will be an opportunity to strengthen cooperation, share experience, and jointly seek solutions so that children’s safety becomes a shared priority for all involved parties.
