LATVIAN FILM MARATHON | The Dark Border

Andris Ēķis's spy thriller

"The Dark Border"

1938. A Latvian counterintelligence officer, Baltais, is sent on a secret mission to a border town. Under the cover of a journalist named Ilmārs Blanks, he tries to recover information vital to the country's security and expose a Russian agent. Baltais finds himself in a place that is like a narrow strip between two worlds and holds the truth about the mysterious murder of the woman he loved.

"Although the film takes place in 1938, its questions are just as relevant today: what does our own country mean to us, and how do our choices affect its future. The film invites us to reflect on loyalty, responsibility, and the line between good and evil," says the film's lead actor Jēkabs Reinis.

Starring the excellent actors Jēkabs Reinis, Vilis Daudziņš, Kaspars Zvīgulis, Kaspars Znotiņš.
