Big Family Congress on November 1

On November 1, “Māmiņu Klubs” invites you to the Big Family Congress in Jūrmala, at Semarah Hotel Lielupe! Latvia’s leading experts, expectant and new parents, families with older children, and grandparents will all come together in one place to spend a valuable day together. As a child grows, parents’ questions change too. How do you prepare for a baby joining the family? How can you help your child sleep more peacefully, build healthy eating habits, and understand their emotions? How do you agree on boundaries and the use of digital devices? And how do you find time for your relationship and for yourself amid everyday responsibilities?

The Big Family Congress is a place to ask these questions to specialists, gain practical knowledge, and meet other parents with similar experiences.

A family grows, and we grow with it

For more than 20 years, “Māmiņu Klubs” has been helping families find answers, meet specialists, and feel more confident in their parenting role through its TV show, website, Parents’ School, and in-person events. Since 2017, the congress has also held a special place in this experience - a day where knowledge meets the real stories and needs of families.

This year we meet under the idea “Growing Together - children, parents, ourselves”. The program will cover different stages of family life: from pregnancy and the first days with a baby to kindergarten, school, and adult relationships.

12 lectures on the main stage and practical workshops

At the congress, leading doctors, psychologists, child development experts, and other specialists will speak. There will be 12 lectures on the main stage, while pop-up workshops and consultation areas will run alongside them, where you can explore what matters to you, ask questions, and try practical skills.

The program will focus on:

Pregnancy, birth, and life with a baby - preparing for the parenting role, baby care, and support for the family after birth.

Child health and development - sleep, nutrition, movement, independence, and daily habits.

Emotions, behavior, and safety - understanding a child’s needs, boundaries, relationships with peers, and the digital environment.

Parental relationships and well-being - sharing responsibilities, emotional load, mutual support, and time for yourself.

Women’s health and well-being - caring for the body, emotional balance, and personal needs at different stages of life.

While caring for children, we often put our own needs off for later. That is why at the congress we will also pay special attention to women, her health, well-being, relationships, and interests.

It will be an opportunity to pause, ask the questions that everyday life leaves no time for, and remind yourself that caring for yourself deserves a place in the family calendar.

We invite mothers and fathers, expectant parents, grandparents, and children! While adults choose the lectures and workshops relevant to them, families will be able to explore the children’s activities and play offerings.

Throughout the day, there will be opportunities to visit the consultation areas “Everything for Children” and “For Women”, discover products and services useful for families at partner stands, and take part in contests and other activities.
