Rain Drop Fairy Tales

Ritu, ritu, drops go plunk

In May rain, no matter how cold;

Children grow, and branches rustle;

In such rain, even stone blossoms!

/Aspazija/

The changing nature of weather in our latitudes is a great treasure. Gusts of wind whoosh past the ears. In the games of the sun, everything is washed in red light. Snow tastes like ice cream. And mother hugs me, scented with rain.

In this performance for the very youngest audience, Aspazija's poetic and heartfelt little poems about natural phenomena will string words together like hailstone beads and invite us to look at natural phenomena as small moments of wonder.
