Līgatne nature trails

Līgatne nature trails are a set of well-maintained trails in the forest landscape of the Gauja National Park.

With us it is possible to see various species of wild animals of Latvia, observe untouched natural landscapes, listen to the voices of the forest and meadows, walk through the ravines and hills of the old valley of Gauja, as well as enjoy peace and active rest. The walking trails are ~4-5 km long, with different degrees of difficulty (there are both soil and gravel surfaces, as well as sections of wooden stairs).

It takes 2-3 hours to visit the trails. Līgatne nature trails were founded in 1975 - with the aim of introducing visitors to the park to the natural values ​​of Latvia and local species of wild plants and animals.

Līgatne nature trails are open to our visitors all year round!

We specify the working hours of the winter and summer season every year.

Opening hours may change on holidays and during promotions or events.

The visit is free of charge (on presentation of a document certifying personal status):

For children who have not reached the age of five;

For orphans and children left without parental care, crisis centers, long-term social care and social rehabilitation institutions

customers and students of special educational institutions registered in the State Education Information System, as well as those who accompany them

individuals (by presenting appropriate documents);

For persons accompanying children with disabilities or persons under the age of 24 who have been assigned I or II

group disability, or persons with group I disability.

For persons with group I and II disabilities (by presenting a document certifying the person's disability).

One group leader who accompanies students from general education institutions, professional education institutions, universities or

an adult group (16 to 30 visitors in a group) or a primary school group (5 to 14 students in a group).

For two group leaders accompanying a primary school group of 15 or more learners.

For three group leaders accompanying a group of preschool children (10 to 30 students in a group.

Cooperation partners for the promotion of nature understanding, cultural activities and exchange of experiences and professional media representatives

For families (by presenting the documents specified in the regulatory acts on the procedure for implementing the Latvian Honor family certificate program,

and documents confirming the status of a large family or the number of children) and for families who have a disabled child or person in their care,

who has not reached the age of 24 and who has a group I or II disability (by presenting a certificate of the Latvian Honorary Family or a document that

certifies the person's disability, and the documents specified in the regulatory acts on the implementation of the Latvian Honor Family Certificate program
