The Conclusion of the Literary Contest “Pe mums ventiņes”

To preserve the distinctive features of the local dialect and continue collecting literary works in the dialect, Ventspils Museum has been organizing a creative contest in the Tārgale dialect, “Pe mums ventiņes,” since 2004.

The singing ensemble “Ventiņ” is taking part. Entries have been submitted from Ventspils city, Pope, Tārgale, and the surroundings of Kuldīga and Talsi.

The contest is supported by the project competition of the State Culture Capital Foundation’s target program, “Program for the Development of Latvia’s Historical Lands,” KURZEME CULTURE PROGRAM 2026, as well as the publisher Zvaigzne ABC and the publisher “Latvijas Mediji.” Admission is free.
