Group Exhibition of Paintings by the Members of the Art Studio “I.V. Darbnīca” “A Colorful Touch of Summer”

On Friday, September 4, at 4:00 p.m., the Coastal Library, a branch of the Latgale Central Library (Avene Street 40), will open a group exhibition of paintings by the members of the art studio “I.V. Darbnīca,” “A Colorful Touch of Summer,” and there will be a meeting with the authors. The exhibition features works by Jekaterina Šnaidere, Nellija Bogdanova, Marina Parfenoviča, Jeļena Griņeviča, Svetlana Goreva, and Ināra Katina, dedicated to the beauty of summer, light, and the diversity of colors.

The art studio “I.V. Darbnīca” in Daugavpils has been operating for nine years under the guidance of artist and teacher Inga Vasiļjeva. Over these years, the studio’s members have organized around ten group exhibitions and have also taken part in international exhibitions, where they have achieved success. In their free time, they improve their painting skills, develop their individual artistic style, and expand their creative potential. A special place in the studio’s creative work is occupied by the pastel technique, which makes it possible to create soft, expressive, and color-rich images, while also experimenting with other artistic techniques.

The exhibition includes works created in pastel and mixed media, also using watercolor. Their main themes are flowers, still lifes, light, and the vivid colors of nature. Each work reflects the author’s personal perspective and unique sense of summer, revealing different ways of seeing and depicting the beauty of nature. The use of different techniques gives the exhibition variety and individuality.

As the studio’s head, Inga Vasiļjeva, notes, although the studio’s participants do not have a professional art education, they share their creative vision with great enthusiasm and warmth. Their works reflect personal experience, feelings, and an interest in the beauty of the world around them.

The exhibition invites viewers to pause for a moment, feel the beauty of simple things, and remember warm summer days. “A Colorful Touch of Summer” is a world of flowers, light, harmony, and good spirits that will allow every visitor to see the beauty of summer through the painters’ eyes.

The painting exhibition “A Colorful Touch of Summer” will be on view at the Coastal Library from September 1 to October 29. Admission is free.
