Mārčs Auziņš Christmas Concert “Apvij rokas”

On December 25 at 5: 00 p.m., in true Christmas spirit, virtuoso guitarist Mārčs Auziņš will give a solo concert, “Apvij rokas,” at the Roja Culture Center.

In the concert program, alongside Mārčs’ own compositions from 6 solo albums, visitors will also have the chance to hear original arrangements for solo guitar of songs by popular Latvian and international performers/composers: Sting, The Beatles, Leonard Cohen, Zigmar Liepiņš, Imants Kalniņš, Raimonds Pauls, John Lennon, Eric Clapton, and even Queen.

Performing a solo concert on one instrument requires special virtuosity both in the performance of the piece and in its arrangement, because rhythm, harmony, and melody must all be combined in one playing technique, creating a complete musical texture. This ability is the result of years of refinement, offering a full musical landscape on a single instrument and a unique solo concert experience for listeners. In Mārčs Auziņš’ hands, the guitar is a whole orchestra!

See you at the concert in Roja in a Christmas mood!
