- ➤The aim of the exhibition is to show the general public what the largest manufacturers and factories of our country were like, as well as the outstanding craftsmen and industrialists who shaped Latvia’s economic backbone in the first half of the 20th century. Visitors will be able to see more than 300 authentic items collected for the exhibition “Made in Latvia” in cooperation with 15 private collectors from across Latvia and from abroad.
- ➤The director of the exhibition house “Brīvvalsts dārgumu nams,” Jolanta Lejane, about the upcoming exhibition:
“We have been working diligently for several months to make the exhibition ‘Made in Latvia’ truly interesting, valuable, and enjoyable for every guest. It will feature items from a wide range of topics, from long women’s silk stockings and elegant silver jewelry to field telephones or gas masks of artillerymen from the Latvian Army, which were manufactured at VEF. Several well-known publishers of the time, confectionery factories, manufacturers of porcelain and ceramics, leather, metal, textiles, glass, musical instruments, and other goods will also be featured. The exhibition will be complemented by rare photographs from exhibitions and production sites, as well as statistical data and various documents. It is important to note that this exhibition at ‘Brīvvalsts dārgumu nams’ will be open for a whole year, from November to November, so I invite you to plan a visit and experience the history of Latvian industry firsthand.”
