MEDIANTE | CHIC. CHARM. FRANCE

“CHIC. CHARM. FRANCE” is not just a concert – it is an adventure in which music and stories take listeners to the bustle of French cafés, the boulevards of Paris, and romantic encounters, letting them feel France’s unique charm for a moment.

The program features French music from different eras and genres - from refined classics and danceable balfolk to well-known chansons and contemporary melodies. Listeners will hear both instrumental and vocal-instrumental works, arranged for voice, accordion, and guitar.

Alongside pearls of French classics such as “Les Champs-Élysées” and “La Vie en rose”, the program also includes contemporary singer Zaz’s energetic hit “Je veux” and the once widely loved songs “Voyage, voyage” and “Joe le taxi”, as well as the instrumental pieces “Made in France” and “Django's Tiger”.

Specially created prose texts weave the concert program into a single story, becoming a bridge between the pieces and allowing the concert to be experienced as one living journey, where music and stories naturally complement one another.

The concert program “CHIC. CHARM. FRANCE” lets you reach Paris for a moment without leaving Latvia.

Mediante’s unique sound is created by the interplay of voice and accordion. The ensemble is characterized by a synthesis of academic and popular music, where a subtle, minimalist sound alternates with a broad, almost orchestral soundscape. Their musical style combines chamber music refinement, the clarity of popular music, and an expressive, emotionally rich sound. This time, the sound is enriched by guitarist Jānis Rolmanis, whose experience in pop music and alternative rock adds new energy, rhythmic drive, and color.
