Love Will Protect You from the Autumn Rain

When the saxophone fell in love with the piano

On November 13 in Cēsis, at the Dimension Ink club, audiences can look forward to an unusual musical evening: a performance in which music becomes a story, and the musicians become its heroes.

"Love Will Protect You from the Autumn Rain" is an original musical and theatrical show created by saxophonist, singer, composer, and stage artist Volha together with the Volha & Bari Quartet.

What happens when a saxophone falls in love with a piano?

This is a story about two musical characters who meet, fall in love, argue, dream, and try to find their way to each other. In this story, the piano is not just an instrument, it is a bright, temperamental, and independent girl. The saxophone, meanwhile, is in love, passionate, and persistent.

The story is told through original music, jazz, and blues, combining vocals, dance, improvisation, and theatrical elements. Audiences can expect not only music, but also movement, emotion, humor, and a living story on stage.

The program will feature Volha’s original compositions, beloved jazz and blues melodies, as well as musical surprises that blend organically into this romantic story.

On stage:

Volha — baritone saxophone, vocals

Santa Kauliņa — piano

Beāte Meirāne — double bass

Andris Žabris — percussion

This is not just a concert. It is a musical performance about love, meeting, passion, and hope, an evening in which you can forget everyday life for a moment and surrender to a story that begins with a single note.

November 13 — Dimension Ink, Cēsis.
