The Riga Art Nouveau Centre Museum Invites You to an Educational Program as Part of the Exhibition “Sentimental Values. Brants and Vorkale”

On Thursday, 5 November 2026, at 5:00 p.m., the museum “Riga Art Nouveau Centre” invites everyone interested to an educational program - a meeting with artists Inese Brants and Irina Vorkale. During the event, visitors will have the opportunity to gain a deeper insight into the creative process behind the exhibited painting and ceramic works.

The exhibition “Sentimental Values. Brants and Vorkale” brings together works in porcelain and fine art by two artists - Inese Brants and Irina Vorkale - inspired by the Art Nouveau heritage and family values. What unites the two artists is an interest close to Art Nouveau in ornament, the beauty of materials, fashion, and the world of handicrafts, allowing two distinct artistic languages to meet in a shared, moving story about woman, beauty, and the imprint of time.

On the evening of 5 November, participants in the event will have a unique opportunity to get to know the exhibition in a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere from the artists' own perspective, learn more about their creative ideas, the process of making the works, and their sources of inspiration, as well as discover the symbolic meaning of the works included in the exhibition and the principles behind their selection.

Inese Brants is one of Latvia's best-known porcelain artists, a member of the Latvian Artists' Union and the Latvian Ceramic Association, and the author of several scholarly articles and two books. In 2025, she received the Gold Award in the national category at the Peter Martinson International Ceramics Biennale.

Irina Vorkale is a painter, book illustrator, set designer, and costume designer. She has held several solo exhibitions, and her works are included in the collections of Latvian museums as well as in private collections in Latvia and abroad.

Participation in the event is possible with a valid museum admission ticket. Advance registration is required by calling +37167181465 during museum opening hours or by writing to jugendstils@riga.lv.
