Musical Comedy | Jazz Is Only for Girls

“This is not just a performance, but a world-loved classic that has won the hearts of millions of viewers. For decades, the legendary story has been staged on leading theater stages around the world with consistently sold-out auditoriums, but this time it will receive a new and modern interpretation.

The performance is presented by the Riga guest theater “A”, already known to audiences for the production “Dinner with a Fool”.

This time, an international cast from Latvia, Estonia, Poland, and Spain will come together on one stage.

A special place in the production is held by the Estonian comedy duo Sergei Rymars and Boris Bogdans, who are remembered by audiences for their vivid roles in the performance “Dinner with a Fool”. Their energy, sense of humor, and chemistry with each other turn every performance into an exciting and sparkling comedy adventure.

By an absurd coincidence, two musicians, Bill and Phil, are forced to disappear from view in a hurry and find a way not to attract unnecessary attention. Their rescue comes in the form of an unusual plan: to join a traveling women’s jazz orchestra. That is how Bella and Phyllis are born, two seemingly elegant ladies in high heels and bright outfits. But how long will the two of them be able to hide their true identity while living among colorful stage divas and persistent admirers?

The creators of the performance have given the well-known story a fresh breath of life, transforming the material into a modern and dynamic stage language and adding witty dialogue, unexpected twists, and contemporary humor. Even for viewers who have known this plot for a long time, the production promises many surprises and new discoveries.”
