Two premieres in one evening

Leonid Parfyonov's new documentary film "Nabokov, a Good Russian" ("Nabokov, khoroshiy russkiy") tells the story of the famous writer's fate in emigration. An exile who moved from one country to another became a giant of 20th-century world literature and a cult author in Russia in the 21st century. And he always remained true to his choice: he is a true Russian writer-patriot, while the Soviet system in his homeland and the socialist realist literature it created are a historical absurdity that will sooner or later disappear. The film stars Maksim Sukhanov and Chulpan Khamatova as Vladimir and Vera Nabokov, while Noize MC and Monetochka perform their songs with Nabokov's poetry. The film is currently being shown only at Leonid Parfyonov's appearances as part of this tour.

The new volume "Namedni. 2021-2025" ("Namedni. 2021-2025") is the first in the famous series to be published abroad, as samizdat. Two hundred forty-two phenomena and 580 illustrations tell the story of the present, which has already become history. A fateful period that has once again put every Russian before a choice. These two parts of the evening are united by the theme of continuity: the lessons of the first wave of Russian emigration, which the current fifth wave, created by our time, can take to heart.

After the presentation of the volume and the film screening, Leonid Parfyonov will hold a discussion with the audience, followed by an autograph session with the new "Namedni" volumes, which will be delivered to the venue.
