For the Fir Tree!

A Christmas concert performance

At Christmastime, the brothers and sisters in one family remember how they once went into the forest to get the holiday tree, taking treats for the forest animals with them. That year, in the spruce grove they managed to meet not only animals, but also gnomes, the Forest Old Man, and other characters from popular and lesser-known Latvian Christmas songs. Each of the characters welcomed the holidays in a different way, but the true spirit only came over everyone when friends and family were nearby, or when some especially good deed was done.

This year we invite you to go into the forest right here with us! Hear Christmas songs in new arrangements and feel the holiday spirit together with the forest dwellers.

The concert performance will feature beloved songs known to generations, such as “Festivities in the Ice Palace”, “Oh, Fir Tree”, “Winter Sleep”, and others, as well as less familiar and newer compositions. You may have noticed some of them in our theater productions, or recognized them from a favorite children’s repertoire. We will sing “The Gnomes’ House”, “Gingerbread”, and much more!
